Rheumatoid Arthritis may cause joint instability resulting in the fingers drifting towards the little finger. The Polycentric Hinged Ulnar Deviation (UD) Splint realigns the MP joint in persons whose ulnar deviation can be corrected with mild to moderate force. By restoring the fingers to a more functional position, the Polycentric UD Splint improves hand function letting you grip and pinch with better strength and security. The padded finger stays can be adjusted individually and make it easy to take the splint on and off even if your finger joints are swollen or enlarged. The Polycentric Ulnar Deviation splint may be fit following joint replacement surgery to help maintain proper alignment and range of motion. Recommended for daytime wear. For a nighttime support that holds the fingers and wrist in a rested position, we recommend the 3pp Comforter Splint. For those whose ulnar deviation requires moderate to firm force to correct, we recommend the Radial Hinged Ulnar Deviation Splint. Because of the nature of Rheumatoid Arthritis and the variations in the deformities it causes, we strongly recommend that you discuss this splint with your health care provider before making a purchase. Once you have chosen to purchase this splint, we recommend you take it to your doctor or therapist to assist you in properly fitting and adjusting the splint.

Rest hand on table top and measure the width across the MP’s (big knuckles)to size. It is recommended that you see your health care provider to assist you in choosing the correct splint and size for your condition. Oh My Arthritis is not responsible for incorrect sizing, fit or use of splints.
