Cleaning Your Brace
Clean hands and clean splints/braces are more important than ever. Keeping your splint or brace clean is not only recommended for your health and safety, it will also help to extend the life of your splint. All of our soft braces are hand or machine washable. (Please refer to the "Wear and Care" tab on the product page for cleaning instructions for your particular splint or brace.) For our waterproof products, the Oval-8 Finger Splint and the CMCcare Thumb Brace, keeping them on and washing them when you wash your hands is an easy solution for daily cleansing. Use a towel to dry them and in the case of the CMCcare, simply use the towel to absorb the moisture on the straps.
Certain braces including the Oval-8 Finger Splint, the ThumSaver MP and the CMCcare Thumb Brace can also be disinfected. Disinfecting instructions: Use alcohol (at least 70%) or bleach on the Oval-8’s and the body of the CMCcare or ThumSaver MP. Avoid getting bleach on the straps or in the case of the CMCcare, remove the strap. If using bleach, rinse in water to avoid irritating skin.
