• Correctly positions your fingers or thumb to help heal your mallet finger, stop trigger finger/thumb, protect your crooked or jammed finger, or stabilize hypermobility caused by Arthritis or Ehlers Danlos Syndrome • No messy tape or straps needed - breathable, open design helps keep your skin clean and dry• So lightweight and comfortable you may forget you have them on • They're waterproof so you can keep them on when you wash your hands or shower • Each splint fits tighter or looser depending on which end is put on the finger first (look for the + sign)
An Accurate Fit is Key: Choosing the correct size Oval-8 Finger Splint requires care and attention. The fit must be precise, yet comfortable for the splint to stay in place and apply the necessary pressure needed for effective treatment. Measuring the affected knuckle will help you find a range of sizes most likely to fit. Please see the Sizing Tab for more information.
• Single sizes are perfect if you know your size or are replacing a splint; available in packages of 1, 3 or 5 • A Graduated Set of 3 consecutive sizes or a Combo Set of 5 consecutive sizes are great options if you are unsure of which size to order or to accommodate swelling or changes in finger size (sold separately)

Please Note: A proper fit for your Oval-8 Finger Splint may require the assistance of a health care provider who is trained to customize splints. Oval-8 finger splints are not recommended for children under the age of 4 as they may cause choking if swallowed.
An accurate fit is the key with Oval-8 Finger Splints. Use a flexible measuring tape or view the Oval-8 Measuring Guide to learn how to measure around the affected finger joint with paper and a ruler. Once you have determined your measurement use the sizing chart below as a guide in choosing your correct size.
Since swelling or temperature changes can affect your finger size, choosing only one size does not always guarantee that size will be 100% correct. We suggest choosing an Oval-8 Graduated Set of 3 sizes or a Combo Set of 5 sizes to get the right fit for you. If you are replacing a splint or know the size you need, single size packages of 1,3 or 5 splints are available. See the links below for more information on how to choose the correct size Oval-8. For Helpful Information on Oval-8 Finger Splints - Watch Our Oval-8 Finger Splints VideosHow do I know what size Oval-8 I need? For splints to do their job effectively, they need to fit correctly. Choosing the correct size Oval-8 Finger Splint requires care and attention. To assist you, we have created a very helpful e-book, The Oval-8 Finger Splint Guide. This printable e-book has all the information you will need to determine where and how to measure your finger or thumb. Once you have read the e-book, you can determine the size(s) that are most likely to fit the finger you are treating.I have a Mallet Finger and it hurts when I put pressure on the top of my finger. Can I wear an Oval-8? Oval-8 Finger Splints are an excellent option for treating Mallet Finger. If you have an open sore or just recently sustained the injury, we recommend waiting until the sore is healed and some of the swelling has gone down before switching to an Oval-8. If the finger remains sore over the top of the joint, use a Gel Tube, a piece of Gel Mate silicone gel, or a gel lined bandage to cushion the joint. You may require a larger size to fit over any cushion or bandage. You may also need to have the splint adjusted by your doctor or therapist to make certain the fit and length are correct for your finger.
Watch our video How to treat a Mallet Finger with an Oval-8 Finger Splint for sizing and wearing instructionsI have a Swan Neck deformity in my finger that I think I inherited. Will an Oval-8 Finger Splint cure my finger deformity? The Oval-8 will prevent the finger from bending backwards at the middle knuckle and may also help the end of the finger straighten more while wearing the splint. It is unlikely the splint will "cure" the problem as only surgery can be expected to provide a permanent correction. The Oval-8 splints are easy to wear for all activities even when washing or working in water. You may find wearing the splint holds the finger properly so you can bend and use your finger better, even though it is likely to return to the Swan Neck position when you take it off.How many Oval-8's come in a package? Individual size packages come with either 1, 3 or 5 splints per size. Oval-8 splints are also sold in Graduated Sets that have 3 consecutive sizes (ex: 4,5 & 6) in a package, Combo Sets with 5 consecutive sizes and in a Sizing Set that includes one of each of the 14 sizes (sizes 2 through 15)
How do I wear the Oval-8 Splint? The Oval-8 will fit on either the end joint of your finger closest to the fingernail or on the middle joint. How you wear an Oval-8 depends on what problem you are having with your finger. We recommend watching our videos on how to use Oval-8s to treat different conditions including Mallet Finger, Swan Neck Deformity, Trigger Finger/Trigger Thumb and more.
Wear Oval-8 Splints on the end joint of your finger closest to the fingernail if you are treating: • Mallet or Baseball Finger • Straightening your finger joint to reduce the affect of Arthritis or Heberden’s Nodes (bumps or enlargement of the end joint) • Reducing hyperflexibility due to ligament injury or Ehlers Danlos Syndrome
Wear Oval-8 Splints on the middle joint of your finger if you are treating: • Trigger finger • Swan Neck Deformity • Boutonniere Deformity • Straightening the middle joint of your finger to reduce the affect of Arthritis or Bouchard’s Nodes (bumps or enlargement of the end joint) • Reducing hyperflexibility of the middle joint due to ligament injury or Ehlers Danlos Syndrome • Stabilizing a broken finger (one or two splints)
Wear an Oval-8 on or just below the end joint of your thumb if you are treating: • Trigger thumb • Straightening or stabilizing the end joint if it is turning sideways or bending too far backwards
If I wear a Gel Tube or band aid under an Oval-8 for extra protection and cushioning, will I need a different size splint? If you will be wearing a Gel Tube under an Oval-8, we recommend you go up 1 to 2 sizes in the splint. We suggest when ordering Gel Tubes and Oval-8 finger splints together, you purchase a Graduated Set with sizes that are larger than what your finger measures without the tube.
What can I do if the Oval-8 is too long or does not fit the way I want it to? Depending on your condition and the size and length of your finger, the Oval-8 may need to be adjusted to achieve a perfect fit for you. Adjusting an Oval-8 Finger Splint requires the use of a high temperature heating tool (one that heats to 300 degrees or more). We strongly suggest that adjustments are made by a healthcare provider trained in custom fitting splints.
