My thumb hurts when I doing things that require me to push or pinch hard with my thumb and it aches even when I am not using it. Will this splint help?
The 3pp ThumSling NP was designed for use during activity, as well as at rest, to relieve pain from CMC joint arthritis, tendinitis and even mild deQuervain’s tenosynovitis. A detachable stay is included for added support.
Will this splint keep me from moving my thumb?
The ThumSling NP gives moderate support at the base of the thumb and provides light support at the wrist. The middle and end joints of your thumb are free so you can move and use your thumb. This is a good choice if your pain persists after you do an activity and if you have general aching pain, even at rest.
How do I know what size I need?
The splint is sized by measuring around your hand at the level of your big knuckles. Because the straps can attach anywhere on the splint, it is very adjustable. In general, women with small to “average” size hands will wear the small/medium. Men with average to large hands and women with large or heavy hands will wear a medium large.
