3pp® Prima™ Thumb Brace

My CMC joint is now bone on bone. The only alternative is surgery which I’m unable to do at this time. Have therefore tried 7 different types and this is the ONLY one that has provided any relief. It actually works better than the one the orthopedic doctor prescribed for me.

My base-of-my thumb low-level arthritis flared up a month ago and I can't see my doctor for another month. This splint fits well, is easy to apply and gives me good support and padding as I have to use my hands at work. I highly recommend it.

I like the support this brace provides. I do not like all of the velcro that sticks to the brace when I don't want it to! Yes, velcro is supposed to make application easier, but, sometimes it is frustrating!

So.. I’m a certified hand therapist. This is quite literally the best arthritic thumb brace on the market. I used/dispensed them all, and this one is the best made and gives the best support. Great job 3pp. If you’re choosing between multiple products, this is the one to get.

I needed a thumb/hand brace bc of an overuse injury and after looking far and wide, I knew that this one from OMA would have one for me. The material, Velcro and structure of the brace is perfect and not bulky at all compared to what my doctor gave and what you see online. I get the perfect fit all the time! My pain has greatly improved and thank you for making a great product.

Works well, much better than my previous brand. It is much lighter and fits my hand better while still keeping my thumb steady and from pinching too hard and creating pain in my CMC joint.

This brace has NO support for CMC thumb arthritis and no protection for the thumb, either. I'd return it, but I won't get much back after shipping costs are deducted, so I'll donate it.

The Prima braced helped to isolate my thumb which was injured. I have been getting a bit impatient with the length of time it takes to heal the tendon, but lately I have been told it can take weeks to heal, so I'll put in the time it needs to heal up. I will continue to wear the hand brace and am am glad to have discovered it as a helpful aid for this injury. 

OMA:  Thanks for your feedback. We're happy to hear that the Prima brace has been helping with your recovery. Healing from an injury and a return to normal activities—can happen. But, it does take time, along with a healthy dose of patience.

I got all 4 of the 3pp braces as well as the fix comfort brace. The Prima is the most comfortable and adjustable and I like it the best. It is good to have several styles for different purposes. But none of these fit under a glove, not work gloves or ski gloves. Wish there was something to use for washing dishes.

Over time the closures curl up and pop off the fabric. They no longer stay closed. Very annoying to keep trying to close them. The rest of the brace is in good condition. Costly to replace my braces because they don't stay closed. Looking for better functioning replacements or a tailor who can replace the closures with wider ones that stick.

Don’t let all the straps and the process of getting it on deter you!! You need these strap placement options to customize your relief! I am very happy with mine. I have arthritis below my thumb and across my left hand on the top. Also have carpal tunnel in that hand so placement of the last strap is important so that I don’t exacerbate that issue. I use the brace when playing tennis as I am left handed and it was really hurting. I went lighter in my racquet which helped some then got this brace and it’s worked wonders for support!! I have also broken my left wrist twice so it tends to be sore playing but with the support of the brace, it takes the pounding off my wrist & helps that, too. **don’t just stick it back in tennis bag after playing. I did that first day and it was still damp with sweat the next day, yuck. Interior needs to be patted dry and leave out to air dry the rest.

I got size M and it fist my left hand very well. 3points does make a difference. I have other ones which has 2 points fitting. So, I placed order for right hand one. Love it.

Have only had it for one week plus, but so far am pleased. Easy to take on and off-intuitive! Allows ease of movement while providing protection. Adjustable pressure. Dries quickly. Streamlined enough to wear under a rubber glove. Works for bike riding; hope I’ll be able to try tennis one day.

The brace fits great, it’s pretty comfortable for the most part. The Velcro seems to be holding up but I just got it so time will tell. If your animal sheds the material will pick up the fur so I can wear it around my dog.

I am an OT CHT and have just discovered this thumb splint. I work in a busy orthopedic clinic and we have stocked the comfort cool wrap but after finding and trying the 3pp Prima thumb brace we will be switching products. The 3pp thumb brace gives better support and does not bunch on the volar aspect of the thumb like other splints. Glad to have discovered this splint !!

In addition to arthritis in my thumb, I am also experiencing back pains and need to use a cane. The splint has been a life saver. I no longer have pain while using the cane thanks to the splint.

My hand therapist suggested I try the Prima brace because my current one was wearing out and because the Prima brace had some nice features: the sides were hemmed and the thumb had it's own support strap, which I needed. I've only worn the braces for about two months so I can't speak about durability, but the material is soft and comfortable, and the brace is supportive. I had a little problem with a sticky part that closed the brace. The customer service person said they'd send out a replacement brace. No need to send mine in for repair. The new brace was sent right away. Customer service was fast and responsive, and a pleasure to deal with. This is a good company.

I have been ordering finger splints from Oh My Arthritis for a number of years. The splits and brace immobilize the fingers and thumb because when I bend them is when I feel the pain. I lift weights 3 times a week and I have substituted the thumb brace in lieu of the lifting glove. Perfect. I highly reccomend these products to greatly reduce pain.

I like the thumb secureness that lets one adjust as needed. a Good product and thank you for being fast with order.

Having tried numerous braces for the arthritis in my wrist and thumb and finding no relief, I was a little skeptical at first. However the support for my thumb is amazing and I felt relief right away. When the right wrist gets to a point of need I will purchase one for it as well. So glad that I purchased this brace. I highly recommend it.

I brought the 3PP Thumb Brace and unfortunately it didn’t feel comfortable. Customer service was super nice about letting me return it.

Seems to help some and give some support. Easy to put on and adjust.

As a physician myself I bought this product to support my chronically inflamed L thumb MCP joint which tends to get torqued during rough mountain bike riding. I like it because it gives me reasonable support without too much restrictive movement. Make sure to read/watch application instructions carefully because it is quite easy to mis-apply the neoprene support.

This brace offers very light support and is comfortable. Great support requires the Fix Comfort Brace but it only comes in 2 sizes which may be a problem if you fall in between small and large.

This thumb brace is less heavy and therefore more comfortable than others I’ve tried. It keeps my CMC joint steady and supported. It’s easy to put on and take off. The price is good.

I absolutely LOVE the PRIMA THUMB BRACE. It is by far the most supportive and most comfortable thumb splint I have tried (and I have tried many!). This one is tops. It provides great relief and it doesn't get in the way of my activities - I can wear it all day long, and it is comfortable to wear at night. I am so glad that I gave this thumb brace a try. I would give it 10+ stars if I could!!!

I work 10hr days 5-6 days a week in production, very hands on work and I have painful CMC in my left thumb and this brace helps a lot. It's very light weight, you can adjust the support your thumb needs and change where the support is. I wear this daily..work and home and at night for sleep. Just ordered one for my right thumb for CMC also..not as bad as left but definitely needs support. This site has the best braces I found. Thank you Oh My Arthritis

This was more complicated than I expected. Not as easy to negotiate as I expected. Have tried a few and this one may be a little more cumbersome than I need. I'd like to rate it higher but for me, I have to rate it as I've done. It is supportive, I will say that.

Fits well, no straps sticking up. Very comfortable & most importantly is helping my tendonitis.

I had the LUCK of trying your PRIMA THUMB , and as a CHT and as a thumb surgery patient and thumb pain patient I have to say that I absolutely loved the product. It felt it was supporting and yet , it felt like I had nothing on. The design is well thought and the material choice, both made for an excellent combination. Kudos and Thank You
